Campus Minister - Blake Arnoult
An original Houstonian, Blake is back in his hometown. Before becoming the Campus Minister at University of Houston Blake attended the University of Texas at Austin where he met his future wife. Following undergrad Blake worked for two years for a local church in Houston in junior and senior high student ministry. Blake then returned to the University of Texas a second time to complete a Masters in Middle Eastern Studies in order to learn Arabic. Sensing a call to ministry, Blake left the prospect of federal law enforcement and moved to Boston, MA where he received his Masters of Divinity from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.
In 2005 Blake finally convinced Ryan Plank to marry him, after a week of asking, and they now have three incredible children, Jacks, Paden, and Mazie.
Intern - Amanda DeYoung
Amanda DeYoung recently graduated from the University of Central Florida with her bachelors in Social Work. After being involved with RUF for four years, she felt the Lord leading her to the internship and to full time ministry. She is the middle child with two brothers, and is a part of an extended family of 19 that eats two meals together every week- she loves them dearly. Amanda believes that coffee is a mandatory part of every day, and while she does not play sports (trust her), she will be your loudest cheerleader. She loves board games, overalls, dance parties, Chipotle and roller coasters. She has never lived outside of Florida, and is excited to give Texas a try!
Above all, Amanda is ecstatic to be joining the RUF staff. She is excited to grow alongside the students of UH and to watch the Lord work in students’ lives.
